A New Era for Public Safety
For years, the City of Demoville has recognized the need for a modern, secure, and professional police headquarters to support the growing needs of our residents, officers, and support staff. That vision is now a reality.
After exploring multiple options over the last two decades, the city moved forward with plans to construct a new police facility at the corner of Hickory Lane and South Main Street—a location previously identified as a prime spot for redevelopment and civic use. The previous headquarters had long outlived its function: cramped, outdated, and plagued by building issues that included mold, poor ventilation, and serious accessibility limitations.
Designed with Community and Service in Mind
The new Demoville Police Department Headquarters was designed by Martin + Earl Architects in close collaboration with Police and Dispatch leadership, the Demoville City Council, and community members who were invited to participate in the public design process.
This new facility not only provides an architecturally striking entrance into our historic downtown corridor—it is also a functional, secure, and energy-efficient building built to serve our city well into the future.
Key Features of the New Facility:
- Enhanced Safety & Security: Includes a co-located dispatch center, secure evidence storage, and a sally port for controlled detainee and evidence transfer.
- Self-Contained Dispatch Hub: Dispatchers now have 24/7 access to essential amenities without leaving their secure workspace.
- Ample Parking: Dedicated parking for staff and visitors that does not interfere with downtown or business access.
- Administrative Efficiency: All department operations, records, and evidence systems now operate under one roof.
- Community Access: A public-facing community room is available for civic meetings and can be reserved for local events and programs.
- Sustainability: The building features high-efficiency HVAC, natural daylighting strategies, and modern insulation to reduce energy costs and environmental impact.
This project reflects Demoville’s commitment to professional, community-oriented policing and to creating a safe and welcoming space for both our officers and our citizens.
