In March 2025, the City of Demoville established the Code Enforcement Board under the authority granted by KRS 65.8801 to 65.8839 to protect, promote, and enhance the health, safety, and welfare of all Demoville residents.
The Board ensures that local ordinances are upheld to maintain the appearance, value, and livability of our neighborhoods.
The Demoville Code Enforcement Board is composed of three resident members appointed by Mayor Hudson Q. Swartz III.

Powers and Responsibilities
The Board has the authority to enforce civil violations of City ordinances, including but not limited to:
- Overgrown Grass (exceeding 12 inches in height)
- Lack of Maintenance of Structures and Property
- Abandoned, Wrecked, or Junked Vehicles
- Other Public Nuisances as defined by City ordinance
Citations, Fines, and Enforcement Actions
When necessary, the City of Demoville's Code Enforcement Officer will issue citations, assess fines and/or fees, and may initiate abatement procedures for noncompliance.
In cases where the City incurs expenses for abatement, a lien will be filed against the offending property.
